NEW FRIDAY:  Mini-seminars on Friday morning:  Hoof Protection, Dressage on the Trail, What the Vet is Looking for. And  Endurance 101.
Seminars and Endurance 101 are all FREE thanks to a generous grant from the PNER education committee.

FRIDAY MINI-SEMINARS AND ENDURANCE 101

On Friday, we will be having mini-seminars again in 2011.  Bruce Worman will be speaking about options for hoof protection.  Kathleen Jepson will help us take dressage tips to the trail.  Our treatment vet, Kim Maltman, DMV, will share what the vets are looking for at the vet check. These classes are free to all comers.

ENDURANCE 101

Paula Rasler, a member of the PNER education committee, a long-time endurance rider and a Bandit assistant manager is again putting together a fabulous mini-seminar for those new to endurance riding and those that may have done a ride or two but want to know more.  It will include some handouts, basics on what a ride is all about.  Horses, tack, vetting, etc.  And to cap it off, a short ride on an endurance trail with helpful riders posted at strategic spots on the trail.

Here's a link to the flyer:  Endurance 101

We are happy to announce that this year, Endurance 101 is FREE because of a generous grant from the PNER education committee.  It would be nice to have an idea of how many riders to expect so it would be much appreciated if you could contact Paula at 541-912-7026 or sumr15@yahoo.com.

HAY

We are required to have weed-free hay for the ride weekend.  You are welcome to bring your own, if it has the "special" yellow and purple strings indicating it is certified.  We will also have bales for sale from a local grower.  Looks like it will be more expensive this year.  The bales are 60-72 lb and we're looking at about $9-12/bale.  Sorry we don't have a confirmed cost yet.

FOOD

We will not have a food vendor on site.  Spencer will reprise a limited version of his Snack Shack again in 2011.  There will be BIRTHDAY CAKE on Friday night for Bandit's anniversary.  American Trail Gear is throwing a Margarita Party on Saturday night!  And a pot luck on both Saturday and Sunday at 6:30pm.

ETCETERA

We're trying to work on a few new pieces of trail but no promises.

Thanks to the Forest Service for all their help!!!
